TYPEFACE TRIBUTES

For Grades 6 – 12

During this in-museum field trip, a MODA instructor will lead students through the impact of typography on social justice and storytelling. Students will analyze Tré Seals’ typefaces designed for Harriet Tubman, W.E.B. Du Bois, Marsha P. Johnson and more.

During the field trip, young designers will create their own custom fonts posters to represent important figures in their lives.

Along the way, we’ll practice thinking like designers by focusing on empathy, ideation, prototyping, and testing.

Please email Leslie Yarborough at education@museumofdesign.org with any questions.
