At MODA, we believe girls can change the world. Using prototyping materials and STEAM technologies, MODA’s Girl Scout workshops highlight design as an effective problem-solving tool, and prepare each scout to become empathetic and innovative problem solvers of the 21st century.

Daisy Workshops

Playing video games is fun! They can help you learn new things and immerse players in a new world!
Programmers use algorithms and sequences to make games for computers. Once they design a game, they test it and look for ways to make it even better. Explore the world of digital game design and design your own maze game.

Cadette Workshops

Newspaper cartoons, comic books, graphic novels… comic art is a board, exciting, and growing field. Comics are sometimes described as “sequential art,” though some are only one panel. So what is a comic, exactly? It’s a visual story told however you would like to tell it. Go for it!

Each Girl Scout workshop is $250 for up to 20 kids.
Please note: MODA does not provide badges.

All Girl Scout Workshops are limited to one troop at a time (no more than 20 kids). We suggest that troops have one chaperone for every 10 Girl Scouts.
Chaperones are expected to remain with the troop through the entirety of the tour and workshop.
Troops with more than 20 students will be split into two smaller groups for the tour and workshop.

Girl Scout Workshops are designed to last up to an hour for Daisies and Brownies and 1.5 – 2 hours for Juniors and Cadettes. Each visit includes a guided tour (if applicable) and a hands-on design activity. Timing is flexible.

Workshops are primarily scheduled outside public museum hours; available hours are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET on Monday and Tuesday or 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM ET on Wednesday – Friday.
