Trying to lead a team, launch a side hustle, or share a radical new idea with your boss? Then you know it takes guts to change the status quo!
Achieving your dreams takes more than knowledge and skills, and creative ideas require pluck, nerve, and grit!
At the next session of Catalyst, a series for those who are passionate about design and the ways in which it can change their lives, we’ll be diving into Drawing on Courage, a Stanford d.school guide, where we’ll discuss the values of risk-taking, the benefits of fearlessness, and so much more!
Facilitated by Kevin Day, Impact Design Lab Coordinator at the Mount Vernon School, the meet-up will include:
An introduction to the book Drawing on Courage
A discussion of the main ideas in Drawing on Courage (reading the book in advance isn’t necessary)
Insight from those who have leveraged the book’s contents to achieve positive changes in their lives and careers
. . . And more! Stay tuned for updates to this page!
About Drawing on Courage
Ashish Goel, an entrepreneur and former head of design at Zomato (the Indian version of Yelp!), offers insightful advice using the tools of design to face the inevitable flipside to courage: FEAR! With humor and playful comics, this guide illustrates how to break courage down into its four components, to help you move through fear, define the values that drive you to take action, and ultimately stand up for what matters.
The cost to attend this event is $23.
This fee includes a copy of Drawing on Courage, valued at $15.
Want to pick up your book before the meet-up? Just email Miranda at miranda@museumofdesign.org after your register to work that out!
