Guided Tour of Please Be Seated: Dynasties of Design

  • Museum of Design Atlanta 1315 Peachtree Street Northeast Atlanta, GA, 30309 United States (map)

In-Person

Join us on Sunday, March 24th, at 2:00 PM for a guided tour of our current exhibition, Please Be Seated: A Century of Chair Design!

While all the designers featured in our exhibition have created stylish chairs, a few of them created brands that greatly influenced styles for decades, and are still celebrated and sought after today. On this guided tour, we will be taking a closer look at some of these design icons, such as Ray and Charles Eames, Florence and Hans Knoll, WalterK., Eros Saarinen, and more! See some of the beautiful chairs they crafted on display, learn more about their lives, and what it took for them to become such beloved design icons today.

‌About the Exhibition

Dive into chair design in Please Be Seated: A Century of Chair Design, an exhibit that invites you to rethink the roles of chairs in our lives. From classic to contemporary, this exhibition will take you on a journey through more than a century of chair design, exploring the stories behind exquisite pieces of furniture by designers like Eileen Gray, Ron Arad, Philippe Starck, Moooi, Verner Panton, Paola Lenti, and others, whose work makes homes more beautiful and our bodies more comfortable.
