About This Event

Ages 6+

What will people in the future think about the objects we use today?

Imagine walking through a museum in the year 2124. What everyday objects will be on display? A gas-powered car? A barbecue grill? A smartphone? Will they still exist, or will climate change and new technologies transform them into something entirely different?

In this hands-on, drop-in workshop, you’ll:

  • Choose an object—bring your own or pick from our collection.

  • Jump in an imaginary time machine and see yourself in 2124.

  • Now, write a museum label that describes and explains the object you chose as it is used today and that reimagines its future.

  • Get creative! Draw, design, and reinvent objects to better fit the world of tomorrow.

Will you turn a car into a pedal-powered community transporter? A trash can into a self-cleaning recycler? The future is in your hands!

Join MODA and M21D in the MODA galleries and leave your mark—because museums don’t just document history, they shape the future.
